The Disney Consumer Products group tasked our team with creating a unique, completely immersive retail experience at the biennial D23 conference in 2019. The challenge was to create distinct shoppable environments for six Disney franchises while maintaining one interconnected space. This was ultimately achieved through Uptown Disney — our modern take on the legendary Downtown Disney — complete with black and white cartoon-inspired Main Street facades that brought the Star Wars, Marvel, Little Mermaid, Mickey the True Original, Lion King, and Toy Story worlds to life.
My role in this six-month-long project was to own all graphic elements from conception through production and installation. The scale of the project required extreme organization and attention to detail. I managed a small graphics team that produced hundreds of decals, large-scale dimensional props and signage, and a massive roll of flooring all while overseeing the fabrication and print vendors to ensure perfection.
